It was refreshing going with Lauren who loves to draw as much as I do (also a first-year animation student at Sheridan) and is willing to share her own knowledge and skills to help me improve and to grow - it was extremely helpful to have my lines and proportions corrected live before me, to then see the improvements instantly. A much needed guidance.

On top of the neat tricks Lauren generously shared, I discovered anything can be turned into Batman.

Lauren

How we met is sort of a funny story. I don’t know if I want to get into that, but never count out what magic Craigslist can do for ya :) Here’s this tall and beautiful girl who’s also a dork, very intelligent, is extremely hilarious, has great tastes in music and is artistically talented. Almost seems too good to be true, but the girl is real.

She came at a time when I needed to break out of my shell, build some confidence and meet new people, she helped me with that without being conscious of it. Plus she’s fun to party with.

For all of that, you truly do deserve that title you appointed to yourself: The Greatest.

Drawing friends. It goes without saying, I have beautiful and wonderful friends. They are important in my life. As I meet new ones and get to know the friends I already have, I’m extremely thankful to know a wide range of people with different personalities, talents, backgrounds, sets of knowledge and all that makes them the wonderful person that they are. That should set my booty straight from botching up an illustration ’cause I’m lazy and impatient (but motivated and a hard worker!)

Introducing: Jennyfer.

We currently work together, she got hired as a graphic designer (I’m a web designer) not long ago, but we were never formally introduced during the first couple of months she got hired. For a while, we were only another face in the company to one another until about 3 weeks ago when an old colleague finally got us talking while we were on a break.

Jenn is all kind of amazing. She might seem shy at first, but her personality shines bright once she starts talking to you. Her big smile and enthusiasm for practically everything are without a doubt very contagious. No wonder I’ve always wanted to talk to her from the first day I saw her around the office!

I’ve always had trouble drawing a couple of stuff; such as hands/fingers, noses and feet. I always try to avoid drawing those in details, which is probably why I love illustrating cartoons so much. But now, I’m on a quest to improve my illustration skills… ’twas about time! Let’s see how that will go.
