This was made for my girls over at The Planet podcast. For now, I am clueless as to whether or not this design will be used, but I am pretty proud of what I came up with. Especially as a first real attempt. There’s a lot of inside jokes within the crest design, I won’t be getting into the details, but unicorns were a must :) This is the result of a 3 a.m. idea and lack of sleep.

I’ve never actually attempted to design a t-shirt before. I feel like it is more complexe than it seems; something may look great on paper and on your computer monitor, but on your body? It could be total crap. You also need to take into account that your design will get stretched out if you’re a curvy girl… like I am!

And I now have a dislike for apparels with “clever” things written on it. It’s not so funny anymore when certain quotes make their ways onto Fruit of the Loom/Gildan shirts and being sold every in souvenir shops and mall stands. And if I want people to be staring at my chest, I’d prefer it be something well designed. “More Cowbell” tees just don’t cut it anymore! I mostly wear indie bands and artists t-shirts (no, I’m not a hipster!), I can’t even count how many of those I have and it’s always a pleasant surprise to come across some forgotten ones, lost under a pile of other black shirts (no, I’m not an emo!). I really need to add more colours in my wardrobe…
